The Human Services Program offered at BRCTC lets you meet your career goals in a limited time with affordability and flexible modules. With this two-year degree, you learn human services concepts and skills required to enter the workforce or transfer to advanced programs.
With an Associate of Applied Science in Human Services degree program, students get the education required to get an entry-level job at an organization or agency that provides services to people in need. With this degree, students develop workforce-readiness skills needed to explore career opportunities as community health workers, child adoption specialists, case managers, community outreach specialists, social workers, etc. Students may need to pursue additional education to pursue employment opportunities.
Admission requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a complete application packet. Students who have earned credits at other Colleges or Universities must also provide official copies of those transcripts. There is also a $25 application fee that can be paid at any time once an application is submitted.
Blue Ridge CTC’s Human Service associate degree program does not require ACT or SAT scores to qualify. Students may need ACT or SAT scores, or free placement testing to qualify for courses such as English, Math, or Chemistry. Placement testing can be scheduled at any time during the application process.
The on-campus or online Human Services associate degree program at Blue Ridge CTC includes:
